Do Upanishads allow meat eating? ( In context of the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad)
So in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.4.18 is apparently says " should have rice cooked with the meat of a vigorous bull or one more advanced in years, and he and his wide should eat it with ghee. Then they would be able to produce a son"
I was slightly surprised when I saw this since I thought meat consumption was not allowed or am I taking this out of context and this verse would mean something totally different?
