Why does the PC port have so many problems

I feel like I’m trouble shooting this game every other day because I looked at my computer wrong and the game will just refuse to load. Anyone else have a finicky experience? Are the other souls games like this? I want to get into modding but if I have to spend so much time fucking with it I’d rather just not play at all.
