store & parking lot layouts

just curious, how many other stores have their backrooms sorta secluded from the rest of the parking lot vs being flush with the front wall? my store's backroom seemed like a bit of an afterthought so we have our own little side lot, separated by the exit to the main road, where some customers and a few associates like to park, with a couple people regularly parking right next to the dispense door or off to the side, despite having to walk the same distance to the main entrance since we can't just come or go through the backroom

my store's general layout

some other walmart i went to, where i noticed the pickup bays in the main lot and the dispense door flush with the front wall
