What's your online school experience like? (if applicable)
Hi fellow redditors, I'm sorry for the long read. I have not posted on reddit cuz of burnout of the platform but thats all but the point, I need support/advice from americans(im from US)
TL;DR, Bad school, bad grades, no support, months since IEP request, and I want to enroll to online school, wishing for support or advice.
for reference, im in 8th Grade, almost 9th.
background:
I have bad experience with my school, I attend in person school, and it's really bad. I have all E's (its probably my fault, and my core classes including Spanish are not in the range of a passing grade), I'm without an IEP, and my mom requested one 3 months ago. Also, The work has been stacking on me, trashing my grades, and i'm suffering because of it
So in summary, no IEP, no support, no accommodations, nothing. I've been struggling at the school i've attended, and I've been at the district for my whole life, and to me overall it's been a very traumatic experience. this point is more related to preferences, but their Chromebooks are super cheap and outdated, and it's really unbearable for me
My point:
I was wanting to attend online school, and if I do enroll, and everything goes right, I'm up to the idea, will put effort in, and self-motivate myself into it. I have a decent laptop, I have a webcam, and I want to try online public schools. However, I would also like to learn about private schools too, because idk much about them.
My questions are:
Did switching help with burnout or reduce the overwhelming aspect of in person school?
What should I know before switching?
and is this a good idea? If not what would be a better idea?
I'm open to any advice or whatever's going thru your mind reading this.
Thanks
