[0 YoE] Resume Review. Recent ECE MS grad trying to break into the semiconductor fabrication industry
Hi everyone,
I’m an MS grad (semiconductor fab/cleanroom focus) actively looking for roles in process engineering, process integration, MEMS development, or nanofabrication.
I'm on an F1-OPT visa, and my job hunt is incredibly frustrating right now. I am getting completely walled by ATS. I’ll apply for a job in the evening and wake up to a generic rejection email the next morning. The worst part is that this happens even when I have referrals. I haven't landed a single interview.
I’d love some brutal honesty from people in the industry:
- Resume Review: Can you roast my resume? (Attached). Is there something glaringly wrong with how I'm presenting my experience?
- The Market & Visas: Is the entry-level semiconductor market just dead right now for process/integration roles, or are companies auto-rejecting F1-OPT candidates because they don't want to sponsor in the future?
- Wait it out vs. PhD: Given the current climate, should I keep grinding and hope hiring picks up, or should I seriously consider applying for a PhD to upskill and maintain my visa status?
I'd appreciate any advice or reality checks. Thanks!
