Figured out the midi dress formula for summer weddings at 5'2"

Can we talk about how midi dresses hit at literally the worst spot on shorter legs if you're not careful about the cut? Mine kept landing right at the widest part of my calf and I felt like I was wearing a potato sack to every wedding.

The waist placement nobody usually cares, empire waists shorten the torso and throw the whole proportion off, natural waist cuts let the skirt fall at a length that actually works for petite frames without needing alterations. Astr the label and lulus both have midi cuts that do this right and I've been rotating between them for wedding season without hemming a single thing, which at 5'2" is genuinely rare.

Smocked backs are also a lifesaver when you're between sizes btw. Anyone else have brands that have cracked petite midi proportions?
