New AM5 build won’t POST – red and orange lights on MSI PRO A620M-E
I’ve been planning this build for a while and today my CPU finally arrived, so I started putting everything together. Before fully finishing the build, I tried powering it on to see if it would POST, but nothing happened.
When I turn it on, the red and orange debug lights stay on and don’t go away, and I get no display.
I’m not sure what the issue could be. I’m worried it might be bent pins on the motherboard socket, but I’ve never dealt with that before so I’m not certain. I’ve also seen a few posts mentioning that some MSI AM5 boards can be picky during first boot, so I’m not sure if it’s normal or not.
Has anyone experienced something similar with this motherboard or with AM5 builds in general? Any troubleshooting steps I should try?
PC Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X
GPU: MSI RX 7600
PSU: DeepCool PF700D 700W
RAM: T-Force Delta RGB 16GB DDR5 6000MHz
Storage: Crucial 256GB SATA SSD + 3× WD Blue 500GB HDD
Cooler: Aerocool Abyss L240R Digital ARGB AIO
Motherboard: MSI PRO A620M-E
Also, if it turns out to be a motherboard issue, could anyone recommend a good budget Micro-ATX AM5 motherboard? I mainly use my PC for gaming, video editing, and some 3D rendering.
Any help would be appreciated.
