As an Indian couple tourist to Thailand, do I need to carry cash mandatorily or is bank statement enough. Is there an ATM before immigration?

I have been reading that according to the new rules, tourists do need to show proof of funds when asked for. I wanted to understand if bank statements can act as proof of funds when asked for. I am not planning to get 40000 THB worth of currency exchanged in my home country if possible. I am okay to withdraw cash after I land in Bangkok
