Experience using Mighty Medic vs. VMax V3 Pro

Review

Kia ora koutou,

I thought I’d share my experience as someone who has used both the Mighty Medic and VMax vapes for those that are potentially tossing the two up.

As someone who generally prefers to pay more for higher-quality gear, the Mighty Medic was the gold standard in my mind when I was first looking for a vape. The price was steep (I remember it being around $700), but I felt it was justified since I planned to use the device long term.

With no other vaping experience under my belt, the Mighty was great. There was a bit of a learning curve at first—mainly letting go of the expectation of bong-hit level punches—but it didn’t take long to adjust.

Unfortunately, my time with the Mighty was cut short when it was presumably stolen by a flatmate. Given how much of an investment it was, there was no chance I was going to pay that again, even though I did think it was a good device.

Years passed, and eventually I decided I was ready to love again—but this time my love budget was much smaller.

Now looking for the best and most cost-effective option, I was led to the XMax V3 Pro, which I recently picked up for around $110. My experience with the VMax has honestly been almost, if not just as, good as with the Mighty.

Functionally, the two devices perform at a very similar level in my experience. The main difference is the form factor. The Mighty is heavier, clunkier, and much bigger. I didn’t think that bothered me at the time, but the sleekness of the VMax makes it far more convenient to use day-to-day.

That convenience extends to cleaning as well. The Mighty has a fairly involved cooling unit that needs to be taken apart and scrubbed regularly, whereas the VMax is much simpler to maintain. It takes a lot less effort to keep it clean and running well.

For the price difference, the VMax really surprised me. If someone has the money and wants the premium, proven device, the Mighty is still a great option. But if you’re deciding between spending ~$700 or ~$110, I genuinely don’t think the performance gap comes anywhere close to matching that price difference.

Hopefully this helps anyone trying to decide between the two.
