In a pinch, would if be ok to use 16mm APS-C sensor cleaning swabs vertically instead of the proper 12mm 4/3 swabs horizontally?

I don't have any 12mm swabs but have a bunch for 16mm swabs and really need to clean a sensor tomorrow. I'm using dirt cheap vintage 4/3 camera bodies, so I'm not risking damage to an expensive modern camera.
