Android - Trending Information?

With this new interface, how do I get information on trending topics now? It seems like information discovery has been greatly reduced. It was great gaining insight on topics I subscribed to as well as trending topics I wasn't aware of.

Can someone help me navigate this new interface or point me to a guide?
