What did you not see from any of the candidates that you would like to see from a leader?

Personally, I really didn't get a sense from any of the candidates that they have much of a sense of nationalism. Charlie Angus seems to be the only NDP personality that has ever been Elbows UP, instead we got vague platitudes from all candidates.

It seems to me, when we are seeing the greatest threat to our nations sovereignty in history, the leadership hopefuls would rather talk about notions of class, doors used as tables, and idiotic ideas of publicly owned grocery stores (the LCBO and BCL should tell everyone that's a shit idea).

Meanwhile the right is rallying people behind the flag and the left has completely ceded that territory in a time where the very idea of Canada is under threat. We bicker about a leaders french skills when the Bolc is the better and stronger option in Quebec.

I find myself disheartened by all of the leadership hopefuls and will probably be politically homeless no matter who wins the leadership race. The right is rallying their troops behind the flag while the left allows them to paint us as anti-Canadian for engaging in postcolonial discourse; they spout vitriol that diversity and inclusion is a weakness and not a strength.
