Wasn't happy with ElevenLabs so I'm built my own TTS API

Got tired of the ElevenLabs developer experience and pricing so I figured why not just build my own.

Phemius is a TTS API for text-to-speech. The REST API (/v1/speech) is confirmed working. There's also a WebSocket streaming endpoint but I haven't gotten around to properly testing it yet — if anyone tries it lmk.

Latency might be a bit high right now since I'm running on spot GPUs. Once I validate the idea and get closer to an actual launch I'll switch to dedicated instances.

Pricing is all placeholders right now. Honestly just want people to try it and tell me what sucks. URL is https://phemius.app.

Down the road I want to do:

- OpenAI TTS drop-in compatibility (swap your base URL and it just works)

- Voice cloning

- Custom smaller models for lower latency

- Proper billing

- A bunch more

But for now it's just me seeing how far I can take it.

Any feedback appreciated — audio quality, latency, API / UI design, whatever. Or just roast it, that works too.
