Simulating a long distance drive

I don't have much experience with driving simulators, but I'm planning on doing some long distance driving in a few months. I'm looking for a good driving sim to simulate something similar to what I'll experience on the road, long highways populated with a moderate amount of cars, so that I'll be more experienced for the real thing. Is BeamNG a good driving sim for what I'm looking to do, and if not do you have any suggestions for one I should use?
