Is Beatrice Horsemen A Good Person?
Inherently, of course she isn't. But was her behavior justified?
Beatrice is a very complex character and I love to digest characters like her and get others' opinions. Beatrice wasn't a great mother, but she was a hurt soul. She's been through so much, and maybe that's all she knew. But at what point are her actions more of a choice? At what point do we stop feeling guilty for her? At what point do we cross the line of her having a horrible upbringing and not knowing better, and sat she was just flat out a bad person?
Not all of this is black and white, of course. But do you think she had good intentions, and was trying to guard her heart to protect her and her son from being hurt, or was she just evil?
I'm doing a project on where the line is drawn, and intentions vs. their outcome. Would love to hear any thoughts!
