Toronto DIY Solar

Has anyone DIYed a solar install in Toronto? I'm looking at the cost of everything I need a solar install looks relatively easy to DIY (I have a small south facing East York semi) I figure I could fit 9 panels total, 6 on a flat roof portion at the back of the house. started looking for what I need to do to do it all legally, ESA involvement, fair. I need a building permit, make some drawings, ok that's fine, sure, I get it. but I need to get a structural engineer involved? There goes that idea.
