Is it a sin to participate and view websites like haunting.org

Hello!

I have a genuine question for Catholics here.

Is it considered a sin to view or participate in paranormal research communities or websites? For example, forums or sites like haunting.org, haunts.us, or similar places where people discuss hauntings, unexplained events, investigations, and paranormal experiences.

To clarify, I’m not talking about practicing occult rituals, summoning spirits, or anything like that. I mean more along the lines of reading about cases, discussing investigations, sharing experiences, or researching unexplained phenomena.

I know the Church warns against things like occult practices, divination, and attempting to communicate with spirits, but I’m not sure where the line is drawn when it comes to simply studying or discussing paranormal topics.

Would this be considered sinful, spiritually dangerous, or is it acceptable if it’s approached purely from a research or curiosity standpoint?

I’d really appreciate hearing perspectives from practicing Catholics or anyone familiar with Church teaching on this.
