Playa Espadilla - Manuel Antonio - What do people think of the area

Looking at a couple AirBnB's in the area but never been to Costa Rica and limited knowledge with the Airbnb's. Do people like Playa Espadilla? Will we need a rental car or can we use taxis? Thanks. This is fora big family trip of 12.
