What if they had El lose her powers instead?

I’m not sure if this idea would also sound problematic as her faking her death and living in isolation is a bad message for abuse survivors. But, my idea is that she harnesses a powerful manifestation of pure telekinetic energy on a scale never seen before and it causes her to permanently lose her abilities for good after the final battle. Id frame her abilities as a metaphor for the deep trauma of her past she carries and finally letting go the last remnant of everything that tied her to the abuse and horror she endured, just as how a victim let’s go of their past and not let it define them. Again, this may be a controversial idea, but I think it would have been better (or worse) than the ending we got.
