Dissociative identity disorder and age regression

Serious Talk

Mandatory do not use this post to diagnose yourself!! here; age regression is not always linked to systemhood and people without dissociative disorders/singlets can absolutely regress!

Hi! I'm wondering how many people here have DID/OSDD1 (I view it as a single disorder spectrum that can fluctuate throughout the individual's lifespan in reaction to added trauma more than solid categories like that tbh)? I've regressed for a long time now and I always passed it off as me being little, even though I wouldn't remember those emotions (this was before I got retraumatized recently and my DID worsened to the point I began to have biographical memory gaps instead of just emotional ones) and felt like a distinct other version of myself with a different name and view of the world.

My suspicions about having DID (which were eventually confirmed) began because of my age regression. We have parts who age regress and retain their original identity and know who they are, but we also have little parts who are always children. We also have a motherly/big sister/auntie part who looks over them. So basically, in a convoluted way, I am often my own caregiver.

I've heard of many systems experiencing similar things and I'm curious about how much overlap there is between DID and online age regression communities :)
