Will it come back on its own or cut back?

I came back from holidays and found a fat green caterpillar had annihilated my pothos. I found him and fed him to the local magpies.

Now, cut it back or will it recover on its own?

He went to town on my outside monstera too. Hoping I can ask the same Question here for that too.
