MGK Cringe Story

I saw MGK perform in Ottawa over 10 years ago during his “rap” era. I wasn’t a fan he was just performing at my college and the tickets were cheap.

His entrance alone was super cringy, they brought him out in a big box which had the anarchy logo spray painted on it. And he wore an anonymous mask. It felt like he was trying way too hard to be punk.

The main part of the story is when he finished a song and was looking out into the crowd he noticed a fan giving a sexual gesture with a beer bottle in front of him. He got so excited and invited her on stage.

He asked her if it was okay to replicate what she was doing for the whole crowd and she consented. He then began shoving the bottle down her throat replicating a BJ and it looked way too aggressive.

She didn’t seem upset about how rough he was being with the bottle but it always stuck with me how weird a moment it was. And now seeing him in his little boy band era I only associate him with doing that while he’s doing his little choreographed dance.
