Choosing between a V10 in NYC and a V20 closer to family

Mods, please delete if not allowed - For a 2L SA position, I'm currently deciding between 2 firms. A V10 in NYC and a V20 in a secondary (but big) market. I'm leaning towards the V20 because it's closer to my grandmother. I lived away from home for most of life and now I can't imagine anything but wanting to be near her. At the V20, I could see her almost everyday. At the V10, maybe 2-3x a year when I fly home.

Everyone at my law school is telling me to go to the V10 for prestige and exit opportunities, but are the exit opportunities really that different at a V20? I can’t even believe I’m asking this since the firms aren’t that far apart rank-wise, but I think people have just gotten in my head a bit.

Any biglaw attorneys want to weigh in on their experience with being close to loved ones vs practicing far away? TIA
