I don’t have insomnia. I just pick up my phone at 10pm and suddenly it’s 1:47am.

💡 Advice

I don’t actually struggle with falling asleep. If I put my phone down and close my eyes, I’m out in a few minutes. The problem is I almost never do that.

Almost every night it goes the same way. I pick up my phone around 10pm thinking I’ll just check something for a minute. Then somehow it’s close to 2am and I’ve watched a bunch of random videos I don’t even remember.

The weird part is I’m aware it’s happening while it’s happening. I’ll literally think to myself “I should stop and go to sleep.” But then I just keep scrolling anyway. It’s like the intention is there but the follow-through never happens.

I’ve tried a few things already:

•	Screen time limits (I just override them)

•	Leaving my phone in another room (I end up going to get it)

•	Apps like Forest (worked for a couple days and then I stopped using it)

I’m curious if anyone here has actually solved this problem in a way that lasts.

What has worked for you to stop using your phone late at night?

Is it just a discipline thing, or is there something practical that actually helps?
