Mouse triggered a snap trap but managed to not get caught. Will he know to avoid traps now?

I watched on camera as this little bugger went to one trap and ate the peanut butter without setting it off. Then he walked over to the next and ate the PB for a while before the trap did trigger, but he got away and ran away. Does this mean the mice will now avoid that area or traps like that?

I'm having a hard time getting traps to trigger for these little mice in my basement.
