Renfe AVE Internacional or TGV INOUI to Barcelona?
Hi! I (27F) will be travelling solo from Paris to Barcelona for the first time in April, and I'm wondering if folks might recommend the Paris - Barcelona direct TGV train or an alternative itinerary of Paris - Lyon - Barcelona with the AVE for the second leg. Which is a better experience?
Option 1: Direct Paris - Barcelona
- TGV Inoui would cost €189
- This would be the quickest journey of 7 hrs total
- I would probably take the afternoon train and arrive in Barcelona around 21:30. Will I still be able to see the coast before sunset?
- the TGV Inoui seems to be a more comfortable journey (and a double decker train would be cool to experience!)
Option 2: Paris - Lyon - Barcelona
- SNCF + Renfe AVE would cost €140 (51+89)
- Total trip time would be 2 hrs + 5 hour layover in Lyon + 4 hr 48
- I would have a chance to get lunch near Lyon Part Dieu and see a tiny bit of the city before the AVE 14:35 train.
- I would arrive by 19:23 which seems to be before sunset in April.
Which option would you recommend? Thanks in advance :)
