I got frustrated trying to figure out college track recruiting standards, so I built a free tool that ranks your PRs and matches you with schools. Looking for feedback!
Hey guys,
Like a lot of people here, I’ve always found the college recruiting process super confusing. Figuring out if your times are actually fast enough to walk-on or get money at a D1, D2, or D3 school is basically a guessing game, and digging through college athletic budgets and tuition costs takes hours.
I do some coding on the side, so over the last few months, I built a platform to automate the whole thing. It’s completely free to use. I just launched the beta version and would love for some of you to test it out, try to break it, and let me know what features I should add next.
It’s calledChasedSports.com.
Here is what it does right now:
- Athletic.net Auto-Sync: You don't have to type in your times manually. You just paste your Athletic.net profile link, and the scraper automatically pulls your verified PRs, dates, and meet locations.
- National Percentile Ranking: It takes your synced PRs and mathematically ranks you against the entire database, giving you a tier (Top 1% is "Legend", Top 5% is "Champion", etc.) so you know exactly where you stand globally.
- The College Finder Engine: There’s an interactive database of colleges. You can filter by Division, State, Major, and even sort by wild stuff like "Highest 10-Year Median Salary" or "Largest Athletic Dept Budget."
- College coaches can make accounts too. To prevent spam, I hard-coded a limit where coaches can only send 10 direct messages a day, meaning if you get a pitch in your inbox, it's actually targeted at you.
- I built a free tool that pulls your Athletic.net stats, tells you exactly how you rank nationally, and lets you build a college recruiting board.
Since it's brand new, the leaderboards are just starting to populate. If you have a minute, sync your profile, claim your rank, and let me know in the comments if you run into any bugs or have ideas for new features!
