Just picked up my first Rolex, which I’ve been dreaming about for the past 10 years. I’m so over the moon right now. Sharing my timeline as a data point for others:

June 2025, Registered my interest in my home country while traveling. Was told the wait would be about 2 years.

July 2025, Went to Watches of Switzerland. Registered my interest and was told 5+ years. The sales advisor never replied to any of my texts afterward, even when I tried asking about an Omega.

August 2025, Went to Rolex Meatpacking and spoke with the SA for over an hour, mostly about work. He has friends in my industry and we lived just one block from each other.

September 2025, Returned to Meatpacking to update my address after moving from LIC to Brooklyn. I also got my wife on the waitlist for the pink OP. During that visit, he told me I should receive my watch in November.

October 2025, I texted my SA saying I was back from Europe, thanked him for the restaurant recommendations in Greece, and told him I was excited about the watch.

November 2025, nothing happened.

December 2025, I texted my SA saying I was in the area and would love to say hello. He said he was busy and asked if we could schedule an appointment. I did not reply because I did not think I would get the watch before the price increase anyway.

January 2026, I texted him back saying I would love to stop by on Thursday. We sat down and chatted about Christmas. I was debating whether to get the Date or No-Date, so I tried both on. The Date looked much better on me in person. He told me I should expect the watch in February or March.

February 2026, I texted him saying I was really excited about the watch since it was my 28th birthday and I would love to celebrate with it. I did not get a reply. I stopped by the Tudor store because I was starting to feel a bit hopeless and wanted to try the Pelagos as a potential second watch. I texted him again saying I was in the store and would love to say hello. During that visit, I spoke with another very nice Tudor rep who told me he knows my SA and that I should be patient.

March 2026, I got the text: “Hi, I have your sub.” I picked after work and also added my wife to the waitlist for the silver OP.

Got a text (6-month wait, no spend history, in NYC)
