Post-Interview Update – I-485 / I-130

Hi everyone, sharing a quick update after our AOS interview in case it helps others with similar timelines. Category: Marriage-based AOS (US citizen spouse)

Timeline: • I-130 filed: June, 2024 • I-485 filed: April, 2025 • Interview scheduled: December, 2025 • Interview date: March 2, 2026 The interview itself went well overall although they interviewed us separately ( questions about how, when and where we met; first date; questions about our families and previous marriages ; Our plans for the next 5 years; what's your spouse job title and where do they work;.....) we had our lawyer with us and he said we were consistent and we gave almost same answers to all the relationship questions) The officer said everything looked good but mentioned they will send an RFE for the certified original of a divorce decree. When we asked about the hold as the beneficiary is from one of the 39 countries. They said not to expect a decision until a “pause/ hold” is lifted, Update after the interview: On March 5, both the I-130 and I-485 updated to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" and internally with event code FTA1, and the case now shows actionRequired = false. No RFE or decision yet. So right now we’re just waiting to see whether: • an RFE for the divorce decree is issued, or • the case moves to approval once the pause is lifted!! Has anyone else seen FTA1 updates after interview and what does it really mean or has anyone been told about a pause before a decision? Appreciate hearing others’ experiences!
