I really want to like Genshin Impact but I'm struggling with the combat

First off, let me say I have ZERO hate for the game, and I'm actually really enjoying most of it.

But I'm seriously struggling with the combat. I just finished chapter 1 (doing interlude stuff) I'm rank 35ish I think.

Been using Yumemizuki, Fischl, Xiangling, and Barbara. The team works fine mostly, I lay down the skills and then then swoop around with Yumemizuki to cause swirl. It works for me, but I'm just kinda... bored?

I tried another team, something more melee with more dodging and stuff but I just kept getting knocked and stunned. I dunno I'm just not loving the combat. The constant switching and then pressing the ability buttons. And then sometimes I switch to a character and immediately get thrown around, into a few seconds of stun lock and it's frustrating.

I understand that it's on some level a skill issue, I'm no expert player for sure, but I played Arknights Endfield recently and ZZZ, and the character switching/abilities feel so much more fluid there. I realize they're much newer games, no hate on Genshin.

I guess I'm just wondering if the combat gets more fluid later on, maybe with different characters?

I also just don't love the whole on-fielder/off-fielder thing... The idea that 3 of my characters are hardly ever out doing stuff and I'm playing mostly as just 1 feels weird to me? Or maybe I'm missing something?

I know it might sound silly to keep trying to play a game I'm not enjoying but I honestly love everything else. The story, characters, exploration, and I only did the prologue and chapter 1, so I can imagine it only gets better.

So yeah... just trying to see if I can look forward tot he combat being more fluid or if I've kinda seen the gist of it already.
