Is Rhythum of the Pride Lands just scraped concept music?

In 1995, there was a "sister" soundtrack to the official Lion King soundtrack called Rhythm of the Pridelands. There is a version of Hakuna Matata sang by Jimmy Cliff and a song called "Warthog Rhapsody" sung by Nathan Lane, Earnie Sabella and possible Jonathan Taylor Thomas which was scraped and replaced with Hakuna Matata. The melody of Lala and Lea Halalela are the same melody for Endless Night and Shadowland. One by One is also on there.

I am wondering if it is just all concept music that never got put in the official soundtrack but since Lion King was so huge at the time, they released an album with the concept music that never made it into the film. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiw2DklNQgYlDB4rTXhlvQUHUbm38Ijm6
