From Day to Night – The Story Behind My Ambient Track

I made this ambient piece while I was on vacation, and the whole idea was to capture the feeling of time passing through sound.

It started during the day near the shore. I recorded the sound of the waves hitting the beach and used that as the foundation of the track. While sitting there, I could also hear the distant forest ambience wind moving through the trees and subtle natural textures so I layered those sounds into the music to create a calm daytime atmosphere.

When I began producing the track later, it still felt like daylight. The music had this open, peaceful vibe, almost like the sun was still up and everything was breathing slowly. To represent time moving forward, I added a faint clock sound in the middle of the track not too obvious, but enough to symbolize that time is quietly passing.

As the process went on, the environment around me actually changed. By the time I was finishing the track, it was already night. The air was quieter and the only thing you could hear outside were crickets. So I recorded those cricket sounds and added them toward the end of the track.

That’s why the ending feels darker and more reflective. The song slowly moves from a daytime coastal atmosphere into a nighttime environment.

So the track isn’t just music it’s basically a small audio journey from day to night, built from real sounds I experienced during that moment. The whole process felt less like producing a track and more like capturing time and turning it into sound.

If you have a moment, give it a listen and let me know what you genuinely feel about it. Honest feedback is always appreciated.
