2006 GMC 2500 HD pickup

Trying to help a friend out. His 2006 gmc pickup is in limp mode. All the ground wires have been replaced, new alternator, knock sensors, and something with the gas pedal. ( sorry, non car person here). He’s spent alot of money and I just thought I’d give Reddit a chance. Any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks ahead of time.
