I panicked when my cat vomited 9 times and realised I couldn’t answer the vet’s questions — so I created a simple tracker for it. Would any other cat owners use this?
A few nights ago my cat started vomiting repeatedly and I ended up rushing him to the emergency vet.
When the vet asked questions like:
• When did the vomiting start?
• What did it look like (food / foam / bile)?
• What colour was it?
• What did he eat beforehand?
• How was his behaviour afterwards?
…my mind completely blanked.
I knew he had vomited several times but I couldn’t remember the exact timeline or details, which made the conversation stressful, I experienced memory stress and communication stress.
So when I got home I built a very simple web app to log these events as they happen.
Right now it lets you quickly record:
• date & time
• what the vomit looked like (food / foam / bile etc.)
• colour and amount
• what your cat was doing before
• recent food
• how your cat seemed afterwards
• optional photo
• notes
Then it generates a clear report you can show your vet instead of trying to remember everything while stressed.
It’s super early and only tracks vomiting events for now, but I’m wondering if this would actually be useful for other cat owners too.
If anyone here wants to try it and give feedback, I’d really appreciate it. It’s free — I’m just trying to see if it’s genuinely helpful. Thank you!
