Symptoms for valacyclovir: you got to be kidding me

Had a really bad outbreak this week and was prescribed valacyclovir for it. I take acyclovir daily for prevention normally but haven’t since I started valacyclovir.

At this point, I’d rather have had the outbreak unmediated. These drugs have made me feel much worse.

Here’s everything I’ve experienced being on them:

Cold/flu symptoms: headaches, body aches, swollen lymph nodes, sneezing, sore throat

Digestion: diarrhea, loud and unsettled stomach, nausea, car/motion sickness

Other: depression, anxiety, insomnia, vivid dreams, tiredness, feeling stoned, and brain fog

This is really the best we got? Are you serious? Does no one care about us? A drug with this many side affects just to treat some itchy bumps and body aches SHOULD NOT BE THIS BAD.

Pros do not outweigh the cons here
