Uncertainty about breakup 24m 22f
Hey, all I’m going to try and make this short and quick.
12/7/25 my ex gf and I broke up. It was a good amicable split, the main reason we broke up was due to her anxiety, we talked for 3 hours and breaking up was the best solution for us, her to figure stuff out and for me to be treated the way I deserved to be treated(she never treated me wrong, I could just feel that I was on the back burner during her struggle)She is diagnosed GAD and takes prescriptions to help if that’s anything important to add. We both agreed to break up, it wasn’t one sided.
1/10 we had a planned meet up to reassess our break up and chat. During the meeting she expressed she had felt guilty and upset for 3 weeks after and forced herself into routine - all normal post break up stuff. Then she told me she never went into our conversation 12/7 with breaking up in mind and it was a shock to her too. It was a good meeting, there was no pleading or begging, just an attempt at getting some closure, which I feel like wasn’t met.
An important detail to add that her best friend and roommate is my first cousin, who is also in my friend group. Since the break up, my cousin has said she has 1. Asked about me numerous times and how I’m doing 2. Said that “of course he’s the nicest man and best human I’ve ever met” 3. She would rather have a “break up become a break than a break become a break up”
Tomorrow would mark 3 months post break up, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss her. I was wondering what Reddit’s thoughts would be if I sent a casual text here soon, nothing about the relationship just a catch up text? And how would you feel if you were in my exes shoes in this situation. I am ok with whatever response I get, but like I said - I would be hoping that it could rekindle our relationship.
Also, this is bit of a sidebar, but the cat we go together that I let her keep just had hip surgery, and I wanna know how he’s doing too.
