Social Media Has to Suppress US
Does anyone else find it strange that every major platform's terms of service essentially require them to prioritize engagement over reach? Not as a choice but as a legal and fiduciary obligation to shareholders?
This isn't a conspiracy theory. It's in the terms of service.
The manipulation isn't a bug or a policy failure. It's structurally baked in. Which means better moderation or different algorithms can't fix it. The incentive architecture itself would have to change.
I wrote an article about this. But I doubt I could show you here. Anyone else notice this?
