Question about my college that still strongly supports their board member and top donor who was in the Epstein files.
For the first time ever I want to speak out about more story because maybe it would benefit other students and the school to understand grooming and sex trafficking and how it’s enabled and covered up. I’m seeing some students protest some and make instagram posts but there aren’t educating people at all and honestly are kind of vague. I think the people behind it mean well but definitely haven’t experienced anything like it. And I’ve never wanted to be public or talk about it at all but I kind of feel that if students want to take a stand they should or maybe would benefit from having a public face who actually experienced sex trafficking as a child by a racist group of white men and where the fbi had a mountain of evidence which they like harmed me a lot psychologically to get as a kid but than never found anyone and closed the case.
I also want to shame/condemn them through my own story as a student who walks their halls rather than someone more distant.
But I also want to go to grad school and I’m worried if I publicly speak out like in my school news paper and social medial grad schools won’t accept me. This school is already in the news a lot and is one of the higher ranked ones which I’m mentioning just to show that maybe it will gain more public attention which I’m not sure I want or not.
Do you think it is worth the risk? Or if there is any risk? I don’t think schools take kindly to its students trashing them but I don’t think this is/ should be a politically controversial complaint. But I’ve gotten really far despite everything and want to continue to grad or law school at a really good school and don’t want this to be a strike against me
