Avoid Star Health Insurance – Claim Rejected Over Absurd Reason (Dehradun Zonal Office Experience)
Title: Avoid Star Health Insurance – Claim Rejected Over Absurd Reason (Dehradun Zonal Office Experience)
I wanted to share my experience with Star Health Insurance so that others can be careful before choosing them.
Recently, I filed a health insurance claim after hospitalization and submitted all the required hospital documents, discharge summary, bills, reports, and everything that was asked for. Despite providing complete documentation from the hospital, my claim was rejected.
The reason they gave was honestly shocking.
According to the Star Health Dehradun zonal office, my claim was rejected because the hospital documents “did not mention treatment details.” The strange part is that the discharge summary clearly listed my diagnosis, treatment, and procedures performed during the hospitalization.
It honestly feels like the claim reviewers either didn’t read the documents properly or couldn’t understand basic medical English. Anyone who looks at the discharge summary can easily see the treatment details mentioned.
I contacted their support team to clarify the issue, but the responses were generic and unhelpful. Instead of reviewing the documents properly, they simply repeated the same rejection reason.
This kind of experience defeats the entire purpose of having health insurance. You pay premiums for years expecting support during medical emergencies, only to have claims rejected for questionable reasons.
If you're considering Star Health Insurance, especially dealing with the Dehradun zonal office, I strongly recommend doing thorough research and reading customer experiences first. My experience suggests that even valid claims with proper hospital documentation can be rejected.
At the very least, make sure you keep extremely detailed records and documentation, because apparently standard hospital discharge summaries may not be “sufficient” for them.
Has anyone else faced similar issues with Star Health claims?
