I truly hate hearing “Is there anything else I can help you with today?”

You finally get a human on the line after pushing digits to funnel you in the right place. You ask your question (which is always when something is amiss and you’re literally in the middle of trying to get things done) and they ask you to so much information then say “thank you so much” over and over and over and then you finally get what you needed and just want to get back to work and they completely throw off your focus and ask “is there anything else I can do do you today?” Who is training these people? Or do they only hire sociopaths?
