I'm not a programmer, and my day job have nothing to do with coding or 3D art at all. But I love games since I was a kid. Now I'm 34 years old, I decided to try learning and make at least one game in my life. So I start my game dev journey from mid 2024.

The last almost 2 years was really hard and so much things to learn. From modeling, texturing, animation, Blender to Godot export workflow, coding, managing resource, shaders, enemy AI, player statechart... But I finally get a small prototype as the result. Everything is fine until I post a video of it on some social media platforms, and men, I receive almost only negative comments.

Then a week ago, my friend told me to make a Reddit account and try posting here. He said if I still get negative feedback, maybe I should just stop making game. But it’s amazing because you guys on Reddit is so polite and kind. Even I am still a newbie, nobody leave bad comment, and I really appreciate for that. Thanks to the guys at r/godot, I have the motivate to keep going with my dream to make a game from A to Z by myself.

Right now, I just finished my game idea. Next step will be gameplay prototype and making assets, at least for 2026.

Once again, thank you guys so much.
