UK buyers - Did you pay for VAT/customs etc when your watch arrived?

Quick question to anyone from the UK who has purchased from IXDAO, did you have to pay VAT/any other charges when your item got tot he UK?

When going to checkout on the store (ixdaowatch.com), the only delivery option reads as "UK shipping line DDP". If I'm not misunderstanding, DDP delivery would mean that I as the buyer aren't taking on any of those charges? This contradicts what the shipping policy page on the website states, where as I would have expected, it says VAT etc is not covered by the price you pay IXDAO.

I mainly want to double check because I had this same situation when buying another watch from a different factory brand, where delivery was listed similarly. I expected to pay some charges on arrival but instead was never charged anything extra in that scenario.
