Anyway to make these chrome spots less noticeable?

I picked up an analog Leica camera and while the upper body looks very mint and pristine, the bottom plate looks severely worn out, almost like this was swapped out with a different Leica M camera's bottom plate.

I don't baby or want my cameras to look brand spanking new, but I do want obvious eyesores to stand out less. So things like deep scratches, major bumps and dings, I tend to avoid or at least do something about. Is this something that I can do something about? I know the chrome is worn out so obviously I don't think I can "buff" it out. But any helpful tips to make it less noticeable? There are some similar marks like this on the film lever as well. If there's nothing that can be done about it, then no worries, I can accept it or if it continues to bug me for weeks/months I'll just try to find a bottom plate and film lever in better condition in the far future.

Thanks in advance for any tips!
