At historic fancy hotel. Bride wants black tie optional, but the stores in the city where I live in Canada do not sell much formal wear, mostly cocktail. I predict many people will come in cocktail. We are the biggest city in the area, next bigger ones are 13 hours drive west and 25 hours drive east. My husband will be renting a kilt.

I’m five foot two, blonde and blue eyes, age 40. I wear size 20/22. Tried on Azazie dresses at a rental place yesterday and I’ll need to order size 24. Floor length gowns needed 6-8 inches hemmed and several inches removed from the top. Therefore I’m looking to order midi. I’m smaller in the chest and carry more around my hips. I don’t want to wear shapewear as I need to be comfortable to help keep my energy up to enjoy the day (have lower energy due to long term illness 5 years +). I’ll be wearing a flat orthopedic sandal from Vionic. I’m also open to other suggestions from Azazie. Thank you, thank you! 🩷

1. The first one brings me so much joy with all the colours. I’m contemplating adding a thicker strap to it and then I can wear my normal bra. Concern - any taking in on top might be difficult with the pattern?

2. I really like this one, I think it is elegant and has beautiful detailing. Looks like it can be taken in at the shoulder area.

3. I also really like this one. Love the lace details and the sleeve. I wouldn’t need to be fumbling with a wrap.
