Coaching the uncoachable
Help, please. I feel like my approach to coaching is pretty good. I usually follow the "crap sandwich" method. But I've got a few team members who just do not respond to coaching. We are a new store, so I understand that everyone is learning. I usually dont coach until ive noticed it a couple of times.
But a couple of partners just catch an attitude anytime I give feedback. Any advice on how to handle this without it creating tension on the floor? Usually after they're coached, they're pretty icy to me and the whole vibe just shifts.
Its frustrating because I care about what the other partners experience on the floor is. I know my response is just to let my CL know, and I dont push any further, but I had a team member ask today if everything was okay between me and the girl I coached. So they definitely notice the tension.
