Part 2 KONOSUBA im so OBSESSED WITH EXPLOION MAGIC
After the giant toads were defeated, the group returned to the town of Axel with bags of reward money.
Inside the loud Adventurer’s Guild, everyone was eating and celebrating.
Kazuma slammed mugs onto the table.
“Alright! First successful quest with the new guy!”
Mineta sat in the chair while several adventurers looked impressed.
One adventurer pointed. “You’re the one who trapped three giant toads by yourself, right?”
Another nodded. “That ability is insane.”
Minoru Mineta leaned back proudly.
“Heh… yeah. It’s called a Quirk from my world.”
Kazuma Satou raised an eyebrow.
“A quirk?”
Mineta nodded.
“Basically everyone in my world is born with powers. Mine lets me pull these sticky balls from my head.”
Kazuma blinked.
“…That’s both cool and extremely weird.”
Aqua slammed down a giant mug.
“WHO CARES! CELEBRATE!”
Kazuma slid a drink toward Mineta.
“Well bud… drink up.”
Mineta pushed it back.
“Yeah I can’t drink that.”
Kazuma frowned. “Why?”
Mineta shrugged and lifted a cup of juice instead.
“I’m sixteen, gang.”
Megumin suddenly leaned forward excitedly.
Megumin pointed at him.
“Woah! Same age as me!”
Kazuma immediately looked at her.
“…No you’re not.”
Megumin glared.
“Yes I am!”
Kazuma sighed.
“You literally just turned fifteen this year.”
Megumin crossed her arms dramatically.
“That is close enough!”
Mineta laughed while sipping his juice.
“I turn seventeen in October anyway.”
Kazuma shrugged.
“Alright Kid”
After a while Mineta looked around the table.
“So uh… where do we live?”
Kazuma smirked.
“Oh yeah… about that.”
The Mansion
Later that night they walked outside the town toward a giant building sitting on a hill.
Mineta looked up.
“..Yo.”
The place was huge.
“THIS is where y’all live?”
Kazuma nodded proudly.
“Yep.”
“It’s basically a castle… or a mansion.”
Mineta stared in disbelief.
“Man y’all rich.”
Kazuma scratched his head.
“Well… it used to be haunted.”
Mineta froze.
“…Used to?”
Kazuma shrugged.
“The ghost left.”
Aqua waved her hand dramatically.
“She moved on to the afterlife thanks to my holy powers!”
Kazuma rolled his eyes.
“After she scared us half to death.”
Darkness opened the large doors.
Mineta stepped inside and looked around at the giant halls, chandeliers, and stairs.
“…Okay this place is fire.”
Megumin pointed at a hallway.
“You can take one of the empty rooms.”
Mineta grinned.
“Bet.”
As he started walking upstairs—
He suddenly stopped.
He felt something strange.
A faint magic energy watching him.
Far away… in the heavens…
Eris quietly watched through a crystal.
She smiled softly.
“It seems you’re doing well in your second life…”
Back at the mansion…
Mineta opened his new bedroom door.
Big bed. Window view. Huge space.
He dropped onto the bed.
That night the mansion was quiet.
The halls were dark, and everyone had gone to sleep after a long day of quests.
In his room, Minoru Mineta was completely passed out on his bed.
“Zzz…”
Suddenly…
He felt something touching his hair.
Soft fingers kept pressing and rubbing the grape-like spheres on his head.
“…explode… explode…”
Mineta slowly opened one eye.
“…Huh?”
He looked up—and almost jumped out of the bed.
Right on top of him was Megumin, leaning over him and poking the grapes on his head.
“Explode… explode…”
Mineta’s eyes went wide.
“WHAT THE FUCK WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”
He immediately sat up, blushing hard.
“WHY ARE YOU ON TOP OF ME?!”
Megumin suddenly realized what position she was in.
Her face turned bright red.
“S-SORRY!”
She quickly moved back but kept staring at his hair.
“I was thinking about explosions again… and I remembered your hair can explode!”
Mineta took a deep breath and rubbed his face, trying to calm down.
“…Yeah. I noticed you’re obsessed.”
Megumin nodded seriously.
“Explosion magic is the ultimate art.”
She pointed at his head again.
“But your hair… it explodes too!”
Mineta sighed.
“Fine.”
Megumin’s eyes lit up.
“Really?!”
Mineta crossed his arms.
“I’ll see if I can teach you how my explosions work.”
Megumin looked extremely excited.
But then Mineta pointed at the door.
“…But get out first.”
Megumin tilted her head.
“Why?”
Mineta replied calmly.
“Because I’m not wearing pants.”
Megumin froze.
Her face turned completely red again.
“—!”
She sprinted toward the door.
“S-SORRY!”
SLAM.
The door shut.
Mineta stared at the door for a second… then sighed and fell back on the bed.
“…Man this world is crazy.”
Down the hallway Megumin leaned against the wall still blushing.
But she was smiling.
“Tomorrow… we experiment with explosions.”
Far above the world, Eris quietly watched through a divine mirror.
She giggled softly.
“It seems his new life will be… very lively.”
The night air was filled with smoke and sparks from the explosions.
Megumin screamed dramatically.
“EXPLOSION! BOOM!”
A massive explosion erupted, sending a huge plume of dust into the air.
Mineta’s eyes widened. “Woah… that… that was cool! Do it again!”
But suddenly Megumin collapsed onto the ground.
“Ugh… all my energy… gone…” she groaned, lying flat on her back.
Mineta panicked. “Wait, what?! You only did one explosion!”
Megumin looked up at him, still catching her breath.
“Shut up, shorty. Carry me. We’ll do this tomorrow.”
Mineta blinked, then carefully lifted her bridal-style.
“Huh…?” Megumin’s face turned bright red.
“You could just… be on my back,” she mumbled, embarrassed.
Mineta shook his head, grinning. “Shut up. I can’t. This is the only way.”
As he walked through the field, Megumin rested in his arms.
Mineta smirked. “If I’m short, then you have no boobs. Ha… loser.”
Megumin’s face went bright red, and she struggled weakly.
“What?! What did you just say?!”
Mineta laughed. “Yeah, that’s right. You heard me.”
Megumin glared, still too tired to fight properly.
“If I could move… I’d hit you with my staff!” she threatened, waving a hand weakly.
Mineta chuckled, keeping his balance. “Heh… good luck with that.”
The two walked back toward the mansion, a strange mix of exhaustion, embarrassment, and ridiculous camaraderie hanging in the night air.
