18 years teaching and I still learn something from every student

Discussion

Had a student today who approached a piece in a way I'd never considered. Completely unconventional fingering but it worked for their hands.

Reminded me that there's no single "right way" and that I should be learning from students as much as they're learning from me.

Teaching keeps you humble. The second you think you know everything, a student shows you something new.

How many years have you all been teaching? Do you still have those moments?
