Can a piercing actually heal with a granuloma?

I’m curious about something. I have a newer lobe piercing with a teeny little granuloma on it. This isn’t really a question about what to do about the b*mp- I’m doing all the right things to try to get it to heal and go away. I’m actually wondering whether or not a piercing fistula can actually heal while a granuloma is present? Is there too much inflammatory action going on for the piercing hole to ever heal? Do they just stay inflamed forever?

Has anyone ever had a piercing hole heal (ie no pain, no discharge) while a b*mp/granuloma is present?
