[MMF4A] DND [Principal Speaker][Goth Bestie Speaker][Mean Girl Speaker][Vengeful Gender-Neutral Listener][Mean Girls][Plotting][Tech Speak][Amoral]['Karma'][Conspiracy][TW: Mentions of Attempted Suicide/Bullying]

Script

Context: A few years back, you had some bullies. No one helped you, and you were pushed nearly to the brink but, at your lowest moment, you decided to become something beyond a victim. You became a monster. Even to this day, people still whisper about what those boys went through. The sheer lunacy of their lives imploding, seemingly with no perpetrator. Despite never knowing the truth, some people know what you really are. Some people, though it is rare, request your 'services'. Today is no different though, to your surprise, the client is a bit different. What could the Principal of your school possibly want with you?

Setting: School - Principal's Office/English class

[P] = Principal Miller

[S] = Simon, your goth bestie

[A] = Aubrey A., kind of a bitch

[Scene opens in a high school - the Principal’s office]

[SFX: The general chaos of high-school, somewhat muted by administrative Hell]

[You stand in the Principal’s office, perfectly calm. Him, not so much]

[P] “Thank you for coming…”

[Pause.]

[He hesitates, taking a breath]

[P] “One moment.”

[He stands while you flop in the chair, peers outside briefly, before he shuts the door and returns to the desk]

[Pause]

[P] “Alright, let’s get down to business. You have a reputation for being someone who can get things done. Put people in their place…”

[Pause]

[He frowns, conflicted]

[P] “Oh, I’m fully aware of your record… And, for the ‘record’, I find the things you’ve done absolutely amoral, foul, and wrong.”

[Pause~]

[He sighs and rubs his temples]

[P] “But… Very few people know it’s you, when these things happen. When the… as your little friend put it… ‘scales even out’. Had to pay him a lot for this meeting to happen, by the way.”

[Pause.]

[The Principal scoffs, shaking his head]

[P] “Oh, I’m sure my contributions were appreciated… Try not to look too pleased with yourself. One of these days, these things will catch up to you… I hope you’re prepared to live with that.”

[Pause?]

[P] “No, I didn’t just bring you here to lecture you...I have a bully problem. Not for myself, obviously, but my daughter…”

[His expression darkens]

[P] “She… ‘attempted’... because of a group of girls at this very school. Their parents are all rich, lawyers, or some heinous combination of both, and any attempt at discipline on my end is just met with threats. Those little shits know I can’t touch them, and they act accordingly…”

[Pause…]

[He meets your gaze, stone cold]

[P] “I’m willing to overlook everything you did to your own bullies in the past… I’m willing to erase any expulsions, bump any grades, and let you pass with fucking honors. I’ll even write letters of recommendation to a college of your choosing. Scholarships? Done. All of that can be yours if you do one simple thing for me.”

[Pause?]

[He leans forward, eyes dangerous]

[P] “I want you to destroy those little bitches. Don’t kill ‘em, obviously, but I want them to be haunted for what they did for the rest of their miserable little lives.”

[Pause…]

[SFX: A file cabinet being opened / papers being laid out on the desk]

[He turns and retrieves some files, spreading them out across the desk]

[P] “Here… These five are the ones.”

[You examine the files briefly - lots of familiar names pop out]

[Pause…]

[P] “Melissa, Aubrey A., Lynne, Brooke, and Britney. Suppose they fancy themselves ‘mean girls’... These are the ones responsible for putting my poor Frankie in the hospital, and I want them to suffer. Not a little, not for a little bit… Scorched Earth. Are we clear?”

[Pause~]

[P] “Just… No felonies, if you can avoid it. And this doesn’t get back to me. Otherwise, no deal. Are we clear?”

[Pause.]

[He looks uncomfortable for a moment]

[P] “Are you going to need addresses, or-?”

[Pause.]

[P, mutely horrified] “Not necessary? Eugh…”

[Pause.]

[P] “I’m not judging. I’m livid that I’m in this position. I’m livid that my daughter needs me too much for me to go to prison. I want justice, and you’re the closest thing that exists.”

[Pause.]

[He shakes your hand, still looking sickened]

[P] “Thank you for making this, ah… straightforward. What’s your first move going to be?”

[Pause.]

[P] “Right, yes, I need to remain ignorant… Plausible deniability.”

[He hesitates for a moment, and the paternal care in him briefly shines through]

[P] “...I’m sorry that you went through what you did. I hope you’re doing better now, at the very least…”

[Pause~]

[P, with a bitter laugh] “Yes, well… Have fun, I guess.”

[SFX: The Listener heading back into the school]

[Fade out]

[Scene re-opens in class - English]

[SFX: People chatting before class starts]

[You take your usual seat in the back, not a single person paying you mind, per usual. The only one who does is the goth boy in the seat over, who quickly scoots over and asks quietly:]

[S] “Yo. What’d the Principal want?”

[Pause.]

[S] “Oohh, ‘classified’? Damn… Can I join in?”

[Pause <3]

[Simon grins, eyes flashing with mischief]

[S] “I’m not a sadist… I just know that look in your eye. Talk it over at the coffee shop after school?”

[Pause-]

[You pause, seeing an opportunity as Aubrey sits a few rows away, chatting merrily]

[S] “...Are we mad at Aubrey A.?”

[Pause.]

[He nods, immediately focused]

[S] “Understood, Boss. She always has to put her phone on the desk, otherwise the teacher loses it at her. What do you need with it?”

[Pause]

[He nods, focused on her desk]

[S] “Copy the SIM data to an external, pretend to fix it, then put it on the proxy network. Got it.”

[Pause?]

[S] “Psh, can I make it happen? Please.”

[SFX: Him shuffling in his desk and pulling out a rather thick rubber band]

[Pause…]

[S] “I’m being careful! I remember the last time one of these big ass rubber bands snapped on me… Still have the fucking mark from it. Still, uh, make sure your head is clear.”

[Pause.]

[SFX: Simon taking aim with the rubber band and absolutely nailing Aubrey’s phone / a phone crashing and skidding on the floor, as desired]

[A, shrieking] “What the fuck?!”

[S, apolgetic] “Oh, geeze, sorry! My bad! Here, let me get that.”

[He scrambles across the classroom, acting the part of being sheepish as he recovers the phone and examines it with a frown]

[S] “Aw man… The screen didn’t crack, but it’s not turning on…”

[Aubrey curses, smacking at Simon angrily]

[A] “You dumbass! I JUST got this phone!”

[S] “Sorry, sorry, I swear, it was just an accident!”

[He pretends to look at you in a panic, and you walk over, playing the part]

[Pause??]

[S] “Hey, uh, bestie, you’re good at fixing tech, right?? I’m kind of in trouble here!”

[A] “Your stupid little friend knocked my phone off the desk and now the case is all weird! How can you hit everything but the trash can, you jerk?!”

[Pause…]

[She glares at you]

[A] “Ew, no way am I letting you see it!”

[S] “The battery might have popped loose inside! It’s an easy fix with the right tools, I think? They can probably fix it a lot cheaper than the store would… And save you having to tell your parents that it got broken by some dude in English class.”

[Pause…]

[She looks between the two of you, clearly weighing her options, before she huffs and shoves the phone in your hands]

[SFX: Angry phone exchanging]

[A] “Fine! But if you can’t fix it, your loser friend is buying me a new one, got it??”

[Pause!]

[A] “Yeah, you better be sorry, freaking losers… Just fix it!”

[Pause]

[You play the good little nerd, apologize, and go back to your desk with Simon, chastizing him the whole way. The moment you sit down, you get to work while class officially starts]

[Note: The Listener is, in essence, backing up the SIM data to an external device]

[SFX: The above / improv chatter / English musings, if desired]

[The phone takes less than five minutes to ‘fix’. All Simon managed to do was knock the frame a little loose; perfect]

[S, whispering] “Copying the SIM or direct swap?”

[Pause.]

[S] “Hehe, smart. The Pineapple is definitely still running, I checked with Tom last week. Still looks exactly like the school’s public wi-fi network.”

[Pause~]

[He smiles your way, but you don’t really notice]

[S] “...You’re crazy smart. Evil as shit, but crazy smart.”

[Pause.]

[SFX: Continued work on the phone]

[You test that the phone turns on - all good. It doesn’t take long to connect it to a tiny storage device you keep hidden, and you make sure to leave nothing untouched. After that, you simply swap the wi-fi to your proxy network, then clean the screen. You’re considerate, after all]

[Pause]

[Simon nods, takes the phone, and directs others to pass it back to Aubrey. She looks at it, clearly pleased, but flips you both off, regardless. You both act sheepish, even as you pack up the external storage and plan the lovely evening you’re going to have sorting through all her secrets]

[SFX: Fade out on the class, as desired]

[To be continued?]
