An embarrassing incident at work
I’m currently working as a security guard in a public facility, but it’s in a pretty remote place. It was early in the morning and there was nobody around. The building is located inside a park. I was sitting in a small office with a big window facing outside so I could see who comes in.
I was the only person in the building.
Since it was completely empty and quiet, I ended up doing something private while sitting in my chair, thinking there was absolutely no chance anyone would walk in.
After about 3–4 minutes, completely focused on what I was doing, I suddenly heard a voice say, “Excuse me.”
I froze.
I looked up and saw a woman in her thirties standing there. My pants were still down to my ankles and I was caught in the most embarrassing position possible. She looked at me with a mix of surprise and mild judgment, but not really disgust.
She said, “I hope I’m not disturbing you.”
I immediately apologized. She actually closed the door and jokingly told me to finish what I started.
The stress of the situation made everything happen extremely fast and I finished almost instantly, leaving quite a mess on the table.
Panicking, I quickly pulled my pants back up and opened the door again. She was still there.
She told me she had come to borrow a volleyball.
I said yes and went to grab one from the storage room connected to the office. When I came back she had clearly noticed the mess on the table.
I gave her the ball and she told me it wasn’t a big deal and that she had been my age before. She smiled at me.
I apologized again. She looked at the table and laughed, saying that with the amount I had released it was obvious it had been a while.
She wasn’t wrong.
Then she left.
